Fineo Vacuum Glazing Installation | Bearsden Cottage

Preservation Windows recently completed the careful refurbishment of traditional sash and case windows at a beautiful period cottage in Bearsden. The project focused on improving thermal performance and comfort while retaining the original character and detailing of the property.

As part of the refurbishment, the existing single glazing was sympathetically replaced with Fineo vacuum glazing — a high-performance glazing solution that offers modern energy efficiency within the slim profile of traditional single glazing. This allowed the homeowners to significantly improve heat retention and reduce draughts without compromising the appearance of the original timber windows.

Each window was carefully restored and finished by our experienced team, preserving the charm and heritage of the property while bringing the performance of the windows up to modern standards.

“Many thanks to the Preservation Windows team for the excellent service and work including your good communication, the care taken and attention to detail. There were no snags, no paint where it shouldn’t be, not a speck of dust left behind. The quality of the window repair joinery and painting is exceptional. I’m glad that I took Brendan’s advice to hide the Fineo margin behind putty and the ‘toblerone’, as this has left the astragals thin and elegant. No one thinks that these windows are double glazed as from all angles they appear to be single glazed, and no one notices the micro spacers until they were pointed out and then they forget that these miniscule black dots are there. We now sit snug behind high performing windows that glide smoothly and look pristine, as good as new.”
